Comcast Internet

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

There are a lot of ways in which having a high speed Internet connection in your home can improve the way you live and work.  However, if you don’t have the fastest Internet connection possible (that’s available at a reasonable price, of course) you’re really short changing yourself and your family!  The confusing thing about that is that there isn’t necessarily a positive relationship between the cost of an Internet connection and the speed.  For example, broad band wireless and satellite Internet are extremely expensive, but they’re also extremely slow.  In fact, satellite Internet generally isn’t even suitable for VoIP applications or anything else that happens in real time!  By contrast, Comcast’s broadband cable high speed Internet is much faster despite the fact that it costs so much less than broad band wireless or satellite!  This makes Comcast a great choice for your home Internet access needs.

The fact is that Comcast Internet is not only the fastest high speed Internet option for your home, but it’s also the best value.  That’s because it costs about the same as DSL even though it’s about five times faster than the fastest DSL connection! With all of that speed, your family will be able to share the same Internet connection all at once and be online all at the same time!  This decreases the level of conflict in a household while allowing easier access to the Internet. The kind of speed that you’ll be able to get from this Internet connection will also allow your family to enjoy superior access to information and entertainment while giving them more ways to stay in touch with their friends!  Better still, with complementary security software from one of the most respected names in virus protection and user friendly parental controls, Comcast provides an extremely safe and family friendly online experience!

Comcast also provides connectivity in the form of digital phone service called Digital Voice.  Digital Voice is a comprehensive solution to providing your family with a feature rich but value oriented home phone line.  It’s a great way to save money while staying connected!

Entertainment doesn’t get any better than digital cable TV from Comcast!  After all, when you subscribe to this great service you’re making an investment in channels and features that will provide continuing returns in the form of lots of viewing options and cutting edge technology that makes it easier and more fun to watch TV than ever before!

One of the great new technologies available through Comcast’s digital cable TV service is ON DEMAND.  ON DEMAND is a video on demand feature that gives you a list of videos so that you can choose anything from the list and start watching it right away!  This means access to TV shows, full length movies, music videos, short format videos, and even many selections in HDTV format!  You’ll also be able to use ON DEMAND as a pay per view service that lets you have control over how you watch recently released movies!

Comcast also provides DVR service so that you can record TV shows for later viewing.  The process of programming a DVR is easy with the help of the interactive on screen program guide so there won’t be any excuse for having to choose between great TV and the other things you enjoy!

Comcast HighSpeed Internet is definitely the comprehensive entertainment and home communications solution!

The contract research organisation industry in the recession – a CRO Frost report

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Some of us may speculate what will happen to the clinical research organisation (CRO) industry while the nation gradually improves from the recent recession, but according to a recent accountcarried out by Frost & Sullivan, the CRO industry will keep on groing. During this current atmosphere, biotech and pharma corporations are less probable to rely on or spend on internal abilities to carry out their clinical trials. However, someone has to do them…

A note of warning has also been reported, where “American CRO Market-Key Therapeutic Areas” expects that battling biotech and pharma organisations are likely to fail to pay current ongoing projects. However, this trend is not expected to last over the long term.

Senior industry analyst for Frost and Sullivan, Barath Shankar Subramanian revealed that the annual revenue growth for CROs has decreased from the 14-15% range to 10% this past year.

Expansion Forecasts – for pharmacology companies or CRO’s

Although, this is not all bad news – Subramanian claims that the industry’s annual revenues will double from now until the year 2015, growing from a current 12.91 billion to $22.87 billion in the years to come. This, he says, will be due to sponser firms increasingly adopting tactical partnerships with smaller services firms or CROs. “After 10 years of talking about such relationships, CROs and pharma companies are beginning to forge them,” he says.

Subramanian uses the immense Eli Lilly/Covance partnership as an example, which came in to effect in August last year, where Covance has outsourced $1.6 billion worth of drug development business to Lilly over the next 10 years.

“That’s the flavour of the season,” Subramanian says. “We’re seeing some new models being explored when previously it was purely transactional, with CROs taking a wait and watch attitude toward strategic partnerships.”

A further development is CROs or clinical research organisations allowing sponsors to keep hold of hopeful molecules for longer into the research cycle. Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical companies just starting out would often out-licence products after Phases I and II; resulting in a vast amount of uncertainty of the future of the assignment. These days, on the other hand, more of these firms can retain products in their pipeline for longer, which means bringing them closer to the market. This is made possible by the cost savings associated with CRO partnerships. This is a great step forward for sponsors and CROs.

Author Tip: clinical studies conducted in the UK by professional CRO’s are the best choice for aquiring the most accurate data.

Not The Usual News, You Love To Get In Your RSS Reader

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009
Can you say “moo!”? Moo News is a great website that covers news of all topics like entertainment, sport, music, fashion and politics. Amongst its news it also has discount vouchers for lots of shops. Any time a food place has a deal on too, Moo news will sometimes cover it.
If you have the urge to find out what the latest news is just hop over to their site and look at all the categories listed. You can then filter down the news just to which topics in which you are interested. So, for an easy one, say you’re only interested in Entertainment. You can click on the entertainment tab and easily pick any of the headlines to read which news you like.
The only downside of this news site is that there’s a lot of ads, but hey we’ve all got to make our cash somehow, so we’ll let that be… at least they’re contextual.
Among the latest topics are Travelodge.co.uk, asda finance and ask pizza.
People are looking for information on companies, celebrities and certain political topics. A popular one lately has been the BNP debate televised on the BBC.
I don’t tend to read or watch much news, but Moo News is pretty cool. You can subscribe to separate categories so don’t get all the rubbish stuff come through that you’re not interested in. Well, it’s a bit unfair to call it rubbish, but stuff that you don’t want to read. See, that’s a nicer way of putting it.
I subscribe in my RSS reader and never miss a piece of news. I got vouchers sport and celebrities coming in to my google reader and there’s news every single day. I look forward to it. But for instance you may only be interested in music and technology.
