Training Your Dog to Stay Inside Your Underground Dog Fence

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Dog Fence should never be taken as a substitute for dog training. In order to make your invisible fence effective in teaching your dog, time and patience is necessary. Aside from that, you need to follow strict rules and guidelines to make the invisible fence system work effectively.

Using the invisible dog fence training to teach your dog about his boundaries can be done on your own or with professional dog training help. You need to consider this closely, since with or without professional trainer, you need to be hands-on with this process especially when the trainer is not around.

Training the dog to recognize an invisible fence is both time-consuming and stretches your patience. However, when both you and your dog become accustomed to this system, it should be easy then.

This training system could span from 2-6 weeks, depending on how fast your dog can learn.

You can initially setup the training by placing small red flags along where you have buried the cable. If you are using Wireless Dog Fence the flags will be put in the ground along the circle where the signal ends. The tiny flags will signal the dog where his boundaries are. To prevent shocking your dog at this stage of the training, you must cover the prongs on the collar with a tape.

Whenever your dog is out, allow him enough freedom to roam around the boundaries. Let your dog explore because a warning beep will sound whenever he attempts to go beyond the fence boundary. As soon as you hear the beep, bring your dog back and praise him for following your instructions.

By doing this several times in a day, you can allow your dog to familiarize with the system and train himself to go back once the beep is activated.

Once you have allowed the dog to be acquainted with this system, you can now remove the tape from the prongs on the collar to allow the shock. If you are worried about your dog, the shock is not painful but enough to alert the dog and cause him to return.

It is comparable to experiencing a static shock and then you come in contact with any form of metal. The level of shock is adjusted in accordance to the size of your dog and ability to respond to it.

However, every dog owner must be aware that not all shock collars can be adjusted so make sure to purchase those with adjustable settings. And whenever your dog goes out, check the collar to correct the shock level, just in case it reaches the border.

When you remove the cover from the collar prongs, make sure not to remove the leash at the same time. Keep the leash on your dog whenever he explores the area within the invisible fence.

Information You Need About Wrinkles

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Those of us that are lucky enough to be blessed with a long life are sure to also be cursed with face and neck wrinkles. Just because the wrinkles are sure to form, however, doesn’t mean that you can’t fight back. Getting rid of wrinkles begins with an understanding of wrinkle formation.

There are three primary factors that contribute to wrinkle formation. We’ll explore each one to see how they affect wrinkle formation.

First, the UV rays that are in direct sunlight allow the formation of free radicals on your skin. Their one purpose in life is to attack and damage your skin cells. “Crows feet” wrinkles are the first sign of free radical damage. You can limit the damage from free radicals by always wearing sun screen when you go outside.

Your skin’s elasticity is governed by a protein called collagen. Your body will produce less and less collagen after the age of 30. Make sure your everyday skin care includes a product rich in collagen.

The separate dermal layers of your skin are bound together with another protein called elastins. Elastins will become dry and brittle with age, causing “folds” in your skin. Choose a skin care product containing evening primrose oil or shea butter to limit these problems.

A good anti-wrinkle treatment will also include other important ingredients. It must contain anti-oxidant to fight free radicals. A good skin tightening ingredient (ie: serum albumen) is also highly recommended. Also, use products that have something to help natural collagen production, like Matrixyl.
